The narrator tells us that he's not feeling well. He's had a rough childhood, and his parents separated when he was a child. He was sent away to live with a group of people who didn't seem to care about him. He hears a thud in the distance and decides to take a picture of it. The narrator decides to go retrieve the bird and take it back to the stream where it was found. He tells the narrator to wait for a while and then he and the narrator can head out for the stream.
