In this chapter, we're introduced to some of the students' essays. The first essay is from a student who's having trouble finding his lunch date. He's worried that he's going to run into Ke Ke, who is in a bad mood. He wants to know why she's so quiet today, and why she doesn't seem to care about him. The second essay is a bit more personal, and it's from another student who wants to find out what's wrong with his friend. He can't find Ke, and he wants to talk to her about it. The third essay is more personal and focuses on the fact that Ke Ke is a good person, and that she loves her friend. The fourth essay is about how Ke Ke still hasn't given him the money he promised.
