About This Chapter
In another world, sex is a mandatory class. The narrator tries to make it seem like he's doing it to avoid embarrassment. He tells the audience that he'll pretend to be sorry for the guy if he gets depressed. He's sure the guy doesn't mean anything bad, but the narrator hopes that the guy will be able to make up for it. After all, he says, this is the world he grew up in. He asks the narrator to tell the guy that he still holds the same values as he did in his homeland, and the narrator says that's enough. He explains that sex is like a way for two people to show affection. It's like two people who are in love with each other, but only one of them has sex with the other. He says that he knows the guy isn't going to get it, but that he has grown up in such a way that it's hard for him to talk to the other guy's face. He admits that he never would have guessed that sex would need emotion behind it, and he says that sex needs that emotion to be sexy. He wonders if sex in another world would be like this, where you have to have a boyfriend before you can have sex.
