In the heat of the school day, the Governess is overcome with exhaustion and begins to cry. She is comforted by her servant, Leon, who comforts her by telling her that if she is in a bind, he will come to her rescue. The Governess realizes that she is not the only one in the school who is feeling the effects of the heat. She also realizes that her friend, Mr. Nemo, has gone to the school's storage room to put away some of his belongings, but he has not been seen since then. She asks Leon to come and help her, as she is sure that Nemo is in the midst of an important school event.
