When Hiroyuki is asked why he is not joining the team on the tour, he says that he wants to give up his love of baseball so that he can spend more time with Hayato. Hiroyuki tells him that his parents have told him that he should take care of Hayato but that if he does not want to be taken care of, then that means that they do not want him to be with them. He tells Hayato that he will wait for him until he is older.
