About This Chapter
The narrator introduces us to Hayato, one of the competitors in the annual Turkey Day baseball tournament. The narrator asks Hayato what he's up to, and Hayato tells him to "have some fun" . Hayato asks if the tournament is a date, and the narrator tells him that it's actually a date. He then tells Hayato that the first prize is going to be the prize for the best pitching. The first prize, he says, is the hardest prize to get, because it involves throwing a bunch of balls high and then throwing them in the air. He says that he knows how to do it, and that he won the prize because he threw a lot of balls.
