The jade pendant, she explains, is a treasure that was born in heaven, and it can guide spirits to enter human bodies. In order to protect human beings from evil spirits, there are rules that spirits must either get the owner's consent or enter into a contract with someone else. The fourth prince, she says, is an evil man, so she'll try to trick him.
