About This Chapter
The next morning, the Governess wakes up in a better mood. She's convinced that the dream she's been having is the result of her "entrusted dream spirit" . The Governess's not sure why, but she suspects that it's because she hasn't had a good night's sleep in a long time. She also suspects that she has been drinking water late at night and knocking over the glass of water on her hands to hide her sickness from the doctor. She tells him that even if he does get sick, he'll be treated by the entire state of New York. He also tells her that if she gets an incurable disease, the whole state will devote its entire power to seeking medical treatment for her.
