The scene opens with a bang. The car is on its way down the road, and the driver swerves to avoid the car. The driver and the girl are injured, but they are not seriously hurt. The girl is afraid that she will lose the man she loves, and she begs the driver to protect her. He does, and they are both safe. She tells the driver that she loves him, and he tells her that he will bring her good news tonight. He goes on to say that if the girl does not come, he will take a guess as to who is responsible for the death of her mother. He tells the girl that his mother is on the roof of the house with him now, and that she must hear her voice. He promises to give her the tender documents that satan gave him. He drinks quite a bit of water and brings her some warm water and some honey.
