In this chapter, the narrator tells Jun about his father's death. He hopes that this will help him to understand his friend better. He also tells him about his past, and he hopes that he will be able to share his feelings with him. He tells Jun that he wants them to be open about their feelings, even if they are difficult. He wants to follow his heart, and so he gives him a promise ring as a token of his love.
