The mayor of the town is on his way to Jack's house, where he's supposed to be meeting with Jack about his new magic mirror. When he arrives, the mayor tells him that Jack hasn't called a town meeting to explain what's going on with the mirror. The mayor says that Jack is already making copies of everyone in town, and that he'll be able to explain everything in a few minutes. He also says that the witch asked his copy to give her the doll she was wearing, so that's okay, too. He'll go to Jack and tell him what to do, but he needs the mayor to take charge of the whole thing.
