About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the sun is not pleasant for you, and that's why we have the props and sounds. We also learn that they're only supposed to be made until the sun sets, so they can make sure that they don't have any more. The narrator tells us that he's going to go check on Jack and make sure he doesn't continue making copies of anything. He's worried that Jack is making more copies than he can possibly make, so he tells him to hurry up and get to Jack's house as soon as possible. Jack says that he hasn't been making any more copies, but that he will be making more when the sun comes down. He tells the narrator to go get him, because there's a copy of him running around the block. He says that if he can just get there first, he'll be able to make more copies. But then he realizes that there is another person making copies, and the narrator is too late to get to him. So he goes to get Jack, who says that the elixir will make him more powerful when the moon rises higher in the night. The elixir will be more potent when it's higher up in the sky, so the narrator says he should go get Jack. Jack is shocked to see that the narrator didn't tell him what was going on. He also says that his mirror worked perfectly, but when the moonlight hit it, it bounced all over the place. He apologizes to the narrator for all of the chaos, and says that they ruined the whole night of trick-or-treating. He adds that they did all kinds of weird
