In this chapter, we're introduced to a new character, a young woman who's just arrived on the island. She's so cute, in fact, that the narrator thinks she's the most adorable thing he's ever seen. We're also introduced to the narrator's BFF, a guy named Mr. Roberts, who is also on his way to the island on a stargazing trip. The narrator is super excited to see the sights of the island, and he asks the girl if she'd like to go on the stargazing trip with him. The girl says yes, and the narrator is all, "Oh, yeah, I'd love to go with you on this one." The narrator then goes on to ask the girl what she does on the romantic dates she goes on with her boyfriend. She says she likes to get dinner after work, spend the day at her boyfriend's place, and go on a drive on the way to work. She doesn't like the idea of being alone, though, because she thinks that's how lonely she is. She wants to grab her boyfriend and dump him, but the narrator can't get enough of the girl's cuteness, so he grabs her and kisses her on the lips.
