About This Chapter
The narrator wakes up early and goes to eat breakfast with his wife. He tells her that he's leaving his trench coat at work because it's going to be cold the next day. He's also complaining about how sloppy his breakfast is. He asks her to show him the clothes she's wearing today, and she tells him that they're both made by Touya, the guy who works for the boss. The narrator says that Touya gave him one of his suits, but he didn't want to wear it because the boss's taste is so bad, and the jacket is lame, so the boss gave it to him, but it looks like the boss has a terrible taste. He says that he doesn't know how to keep a straight face around Touya just thinking about work, so he goes to the store to get some medicine. When he gets there, he finds out that the narrator is going shopping with him. He wants to know if they were just having a "dream" the night before, but the narrator says no. They're not married, and they don't even know each other, so they can't really be friends. He buys some sausage from the saleswoman, and then he buys some hand soap from the woman who worked with him the day before. They start to go shopping, but they run into a problem: the narrator's hand is a bit dry.
