In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character named "Daddy" . He is the father of the protagonist, and he has come to live with the protagonist's family in order to provide for them. He tells the protagonist that he can stay with them as long as they call him "daddy" , and that they can live together. He also tells them that he wants to ride on their exclusive mount, but that he is afraid that someone is following him lately. When the protagonist asks what is wrong, his father tells him that it is just that he always feels like he is being followed lately. The protagonist, however, does not understand what he is talking about. He says that he has always felt like someone was following him, and now that he feels that way, he would like to go and live with his family. He wants to be able to eat with them, and so he offers to cook them a meal. He does not know what food is in the food, but he does know that the food is filled with smoke and green stuff. When he sees the flashing news that the group has solved the case, he wonders if he has lost his mind. He wonders if the earthlings are different from the ones on the other side of the world, and if they will find them and kill them all if they do not get rid of the black device. He believes that the black devices are just devices for earthlings to use, and not evil, because he has a "will of steel" that will not give in easily to the enemy.
