In the operating room, Lingruio tells his brother that he has just returned from China. He tells him that he was invited to the medical school of America by the eldest son, who is known as a "godlike figure" in the medical community. The elder son invites his brother to come to his home and get his injuries sorted out. When the elder son arrives, Lingruo tells him to get out of the room and asks him to sit down. When he does, he realizes that he is his brother, and he begins to cry. He says that since he wakes up, he has been "seeing" his brother's shadow.
