This chapter opens with a conversation between Will and the Governess. The Governess tells Will that she moved to the town as she entered high school, and that she doesn't know anyone there. She tells him that she's moved because she wants to be alone, but that she can't relate to him because she has "personality issues" . Will says that if he's around people, he has fun and laughs, and there's "nothing wrong with that" , but he tells her not to pat him on the back for crying. He tells her that he'll see her tomorrow, and she tells him to meet again
