He says that he looks forward to the day every month because his grand mother died a year ago. He tells the narrator that his mother loved flowers, and that she died last year. He asks the narrator to tell the man about her mother's death, and the narrator tells him that the reason he comes to the flower shop is to talk to him about her death. She says that she came because she wants flowers for herself.
