About This Chapter
In this chapter, the reader is introduced to the concept of "demon strength" and how it can be easily discerned from the appearance of a demon. In other words, the more a demon resembles a human, the greater its threat to humanity. The narrator explains that the more demon-like a demon is, the less likely it is to adapt to life in the purgatory. He says that he has never seen a demon that resembles human so much. He is curious to know the identity of the demon, but the men have finished their mission and it seems like they are not feeling well. He asks the men to get out of the way. He notices that the seventh king is also in the room, and he wonders why they have been hiding there all this time. The men say that they are in no condition to fight, and the narrator is glad he came to his senses. He realizes that the two new creatures look exactly like human. He rummages through the room looking for support, but he sees that the number of deaths keeps increasing. He grabs a grip on the demon who ripped his wind with bare hands. The demon replies that his brother has no special abilities, and that he was born a bit special, but that he is already better than the humans. He adds that the man in the tube receives training to fight that is incomparable to his brother's. He trembles that word hurts his pride.
