After two days of searching for kalura, the gang returns to the abandoned village. Ashidaka and Tsuchi are still hanging around the abandoned shack, trying to steal as much as they can from the other men. The mechanic from the abandoned town tells them that his arms are going to freeze, so he's going to kill them if they don't tell him where they're from. He tells them to warm up first, and then he'll show them how to survive the night in the cold. He's got a thick blanket to protect him from the elements, and he tells them they can all hang out together in the tent and talk freely. He also tells them he can fix their arms up a bit, but they'll have to listen to his advice. He says they should all pay a "playboy tax" , and they all laugh at him for trying to fix his arms up for fun. They're all laughing at him because he just slams his arms together for fun, and it doesn't work. He asks them to stop laughing, and ashidaka asks if they were on a date, and if he was a one- or two-man band. They say they were, but it seems like they've been hanging out together all night, and now it's late, so they can't talk about it tomorrow. They tie him up and try to get him to help them, but he won't let them, saying that he was out to murder them all. He blames them for taking everything from him, including his arms, and that's how he ended up in this situation.
