Ashidaka and koff prepare for battle, the captain tells them that he has a message for them. He wants them to stop faking it. He says that he doesn't want any of them to die, but he does want them to be able to fight without having to sacrifice their own lives. He tells them to keep one arm behind them for defense, but to keep the other arm behind him for offense. He warns them that koff's arms are getting sloppy, and that he's afraid of a change in the battlefield. The captain tells him that he can't be under him, because he promised that he would never do such a thing. He points out that if they created a new eight-arm force, they wouldn't have to sacrifice any of their other missions. They could instead create a research arm to stop the enemy before they get too strong. They need to get as many scientists as they can before they have too many mature ones. They also need to hire as many engineers as possible.
