In this chapter, we learn that Carino has fallen in love with one of the clerks at her store. The clerk, however, is not so sure about Carino's feelings for him. He wants her to clean all the rooms in the store so that she can find her lover. He also wants Carino to have a bear to sit with so that he can talk to her while she is sitting with a bear. Carino agrees to the task.
