This chapter opens with a soliloquy by one of the brothel's prostitutes. She tells the audience that she is a "refined taste" , and that she wants to visit the "chun hong" mansion in "broad day light" . She says that the girls will treat her well, and she is sure that she can satisfy her. She asks the man if he wants to die, and the man says that he does not want to die. She then tells the man that they are there to find the lord for "some official business" and that they should let go of the girl first. The man tells her that another man is also there for the bounty, and he says that this is because the lord is not the type to care about someone's life, as he is not a person who will "care about someone elses life." He says that since the current lord caught the attention of the second lady of a wealthy family, he has been able to climb the ladder up to being the lord through his father's connections. The woman tells him that the reason the lord has decided to pay the bounty on the "lei demon" is because he is eavesdropping on her. He tells her to follow him back to his estate and they will talk business
