This chapter opens with the monster and the monster's wife crawling together. The monster tells his wife that he and the wife are very similar, and that if they eat each other, they will both become powerful. The wife tells the monster that she saw the same fear in his heart as she did in hers, and the fear in her heart will throw him away when he loses his value. The uncle tells the wife that the monster is not her child, but a demon. He tells her that she is his everything, and she tells him that the smell of the blood on his bed was a sign that the demon was feeding on him for his own selfish desires. She begs the uncle to leave, but the uncle refuses, saying that he is not allowed to do so.
