In this chapter, a group of students from a middle school in the countryside discuss the news that the king has invited them to a Christmas concert. They wonder if the princess will try to make things up again. One of the students, named Sanoda, tells the others that he and his sister have been chosen to represent the entire country at the concert. He tells them that he is in love with his sister, and that someday he wants to do something great that will catch her eye.
