In this chapter, the Governess tries to convince Lockwood that he should not be angry. Lockwood, however, is not convinced. He says that he used to be in control of his body, but now that he has children, he realizes that he is not in control anymore. He asks Lockwood if he would like to become a foster father for his three daughters. Lockwood replies that he does not need to be a father because he can do whatever he likes with his children. Lockwood then asks if they should have a drink together.
