The narrator explains that he has been assigned to be stationed at the company's sales office for the summer. He tells Natori that he and the new guy have not been together for a year, and that Natori has to tell him about it today. He says that he will have to sleep alone in the same room as Natori for a month before he can tell him. The narrator says that if he had told Natori about it, things would not have turned out this way. Natori says that she can only blame herself for not telling him sooner. She tells him to be careful on his way to the sales office because the head-quarters are coming to the store. She says that the salesman is kind and easy-going, but that he is "transferred handsome" .
