About This Chapter
Chapter six begins with a flashback to the beginning of the book. The flashback is to a conversation between Jane and her father. The father tells Jane that the only way for her to win is to ensure that everyone else loses. Jane tells her father that she wants to be a part of a team, a group of people who work together in order to achieve a common goal. She tells him that her mother is counting on her to do so, and that they need to stick together because they're "rotten" together. Jane says that she's going to the fairy godmother's house to get the wand, but that she doesn't have anything to wear. She says that if she needed anything, she'd be happy to be with her family, her friends, and her girlfriend. She's sorry that she didn't get to see them all today, but she wishes that they could all be together in front of her, so that she could soak up all of their goodness. They're making a chocolate chip cookie, which Jane says is "different" from the chocolate chip cookies they've been making at home.
