He's ranked ninth in the world and he has the "toma hawk" , the winning shot, to open his match against Martius. Carlas thinks Martius's opponent is weak, but Martius points out that it's not the first time Martius has seen such a young player. He says that his opponent is doing something crazy, like "smashing his foot work" and "buzzing cable." Martius wants to know why Martius isn't hitting "normal" serves, like the ones that use a lot of stamina. He wants Martius to use the "overhead" serve, which Martius knows how to do.
