In this chapter, we learn more about the kidnapping of the Hortensio family. We learn that they are still alive, and that they have managed to free all of the hostages. We also learn that the pendant is still intact, even though it has been damaged in the attack. We are also told that the thief, Gramps, has grown legs, which is a sign that he has received some kind of faith from the thief.
