The narrator introduces us to his mother, who introduces herself as "my mom" . She tells us that she is an employee of the "yongsheng group" , and that her boyfriend, "cheng rui" is a frequent visitor at the restaurant. She asks him why his girlfriend is called "jiamei" again, and he tells her that it is a "fated jinx" for him to fall in love with her. He tells her to go home and tell him that she doesn't deserve him, because she is a businesswoman. He then tells her about how he fell for her, and how she is his ex-girlfriend from France. She says that she was in college with him, and they were supposed to be lovers, but that he took her as a replacement for his girlfriend, who was pregnant. He asks her if she is really his girlfriend and she says yes, and tells him to knock on her door in case he is doing something with her
