When Zev wakes up, his father tells him to wake up and confront the demon. He's shocked that Zev hasn't been able to communicate with his son recently. Zev tells his father that the demon outside isn't a demon at all, it's just an incarnation of a fallen god. Apparently, a demon who becomes a god is destroyed, but the god who becomes god also loses his consciousness. In other words, the god that became a god lost his mind, too. This is a big deal, Zev says, because it means that no one can control his destiny anymore.
