In this chapter, we learn that the hero of the previous chapter, Hiro, has been killed in a car accident. We learn that he is Hiro's father's old friend, and that his name is John. We also learn that John has survived the previous mission thanks to his cyborg body. We are also introduced to the new hero, who is called "Rivalta" . The hero tells us that he was sent to rescue a city from some terrorists. The mission was not difficult, but the terrorists launched their final attack. The citizens were saved, but they were destroyed by the civilians inside the chopper. Rivalta was shocked, and suddenly she went berserk. The next time she was in control, she had killed all the terrorists herself. She gave her resignation from the project, but she never gave the organization permission to do so. Now that she is out of control, her powers are even stronger. John tells him that he must stop her until he returns. He tells him to use the "weapon call" , which erases her emotion, to shut her down first. The two of them get away from each other, and John asks if he can give her his sign on the handkerchief. He says that a hero and idol are hard things to do, and he asks her to become an idol and smile to everyone. He also tells her that the first day he was absent, there was news that a terrorist had attacked the gym. He asks her if this is a right decision, and she says that it is as long as he is still on their side. She asks him to return to school as part of the project and also as a curiosity about him.
