About This Chapter
Welcome to the new life, says the cardinal, who welcomes the young man to his home. He tells him that he is the boss of his new life and that people are supposed to belong to each other. The cardinal says that he was worried about a second family in his life, but that he can adapt. He says that the last time he saw him, he was two feet shorter than he is now, and that he has hit 43 million marks on his reaper. He is safe in the cardinal's home, and the cardinal invites him to come and stay for dinner. He explains that they only have rules: no smoking, no alcohol, no yelling, and no judgment dinner is not until 5pm. When the cardinal asks if he can apologize, the cardinal says he does not want to have to confess anything, because he has done a lot of good things in his career. He asks the cardinal to try to be nice to his son, who is five, and not to be "so judgy." The cardinal replies that he fell in love with the cardinal two weeks ago, but now that the reaper is growing, he is worried that he will fall in love again and forget all that he cares about.
