About This Chapter
The ghost attacks the master, who is trapped in the parchment. The master tells the ghost that the ghost has been haunting him for a few days, and that the horse has knocked a woman into the river. The horse has turned the ghost into a curse on the dead master, feeding on him and cursing him to death. The ghost says that humans will not turn into monsters when they die, and the master tells him that the girl who lives in the house is called "guyu" and that she was taken into the house when she was only a child. She has been an outcast since then, and she has been surrounded by strange occurrences since the death of her father. He tells her to go to a wine merchant named "yan" and ask him for some wine. The wine merchant agrees that the wine is not unclean, and he agrees to help the master. He says that the master did not lie to the ghost, because the ghost is crying too much, and his master is worried that he will be left alone. He gives the girl a token of gratitude and payment for her help. The girl says that she would not have cried so much if she had known that her master was not alone. She thanks the master for his help, and says that it is all thanks to him that she and her family are able to be together again.
