In a soliloquy, Huck says that he never meant any of what he said to Beelzebub, and that he doesn't want to sound like he's being mean, but he does want to make sure that you know that he wasn't malicious. He's not lying to himself, he says, and he detests Lord Bernham. Huck says he'll do anything in his power to support her, even if it means giving up their friendship.
