In the middle of the night, Zhuang wakes up. He's been working hard all day, and now he wants to rest. He tells Zhuang to take a nap, and Zhuang agrees. They have a little snack time together, and then Zhuang has to leave for the city. He wants to see the ghost villages that were wiped out by a plague a couple of years ago, and he's worried that the border will be redrawn to make it easier for him to get there. He also wants to know how the song he learned from the taoist monk is different from the one he hears from Zhuang. He has a craving for food, and the old man who taught him the song is throwing candy at him.
