In this chapter, we learn that the human race has been wiped out by the demon war, and that a few of the remaining members of the race have been hiding out in the woods. The two dragons, however, are still alive, and they've just thrown a rock at a golem. The golem doesn't seem to be following them, so they're safe. But what made the golem charge at them? It's not like he wasn't acting like he wanted to kill them, says the father of the dragon. He's surprised that the two dragons didn't freak out, and he's also surprised that nevida hasn't burned the rope, which is a big deal for a dragon to do. He also says that she still has a long way to go before she's ready to be a fully grown dragon, but he can't bear to lose her.
