In this chapter, we learn more about the relationship between Nemo and Dr. Bledsoe. It turns out that Nemo's benefactor, Nemo, has never mentioned the fact that he's the one who engineered his escape from prison. The two of them discuss the situation, and Nemo admits that he wasn't really a benefactor, but that it would have been a waste if he'd been destroyed for being "a failed experiment" . He says that he won't be staying in prison any longer, because he doesn't want to stir up trouble with his friends. He's glad that he was able to escape, because if he hadn't, he wouldn't have been able to use the powers he gained to determine his own fate.
