As the chapter opens, we are introduced to the senior disciple, who is also known as the "Lilian" or "Sweet Honey" of the chapter. We learn that she is the wife of a local man, and that she has been traveling long distances to be with her master. She is a local, and her family is distinguished, so she will not bring shame to her master, and so she is happy to meet the other disciple, the "Senior" disciple. The other disciple is the "Young" disciple, "Huaiyu" who is an alchemist and a spirit-conjuring practitioner. The two of them discuss the importance of maintaining a good relationship between the disciple and their master. The young disciple says that he is the future wife of the master and that he needs to maintain a close relationship with her. He is surprised to learn that the disciple is so small, and the other is the Senior. He says that the young disciple is a "milk cow" and the senior is "another milk cow" . He also says that she claims to be the master's wife, but that she cannot possibly hook him up
