It's morning, and Ming-ling is up. He's hungry, so he's going to wake up Ming and give him some milk for breakfast. Ming asks why he has to call Ming for shopping. Ming says he doesn't need to buy food for his cousin, who's been out of town for a while. Ming tells Ming to leave the dishes on the table when he goes out to the market. Ming wonders why he hasn't gone out to eat yet. He hears a knock at the door, and it's the voice of his aunt, who tells him to go and kill chen-miao, Ming's daughter, who has known all along that the family murdered her parents. Ming wants to kill her, but the gas in the house isn't working right. He decides to put sleeping pills in her milk, and then he'll go out and buy food.
