"Oh, pretty sensitive, are you" , says the narrator, who wants to know what's wrong with his friend. He's pretty broke, he says, and he'd like to try to adapt his sense of money to his friend's. The narrator says that they're both the same age, and that's why they behave the way they do. He says that he used to live with his coworkers when he was really broke, and they used to bathe together, but now that he's broke he can't do that anymore. He asks the narrator to help him, but the narrator refuses.
