In this chapter, Shmoo tries to convince her mom that she's not crazy about her birth day. Shmoo says that she came to Japan to avoid wasting her life in the matchmaking business. She's going to go to a friend's house in the country, where she'll be able to find someone to marry her. She tells Shmoo that she can find a boyfriend as long as he's her friend, and Shmoo thinks that's a great idea. She also says that Shmoo should ask someone she knows to help her find a man, because otherwise she won't find anyone for the rest of her life.
