"Don't worry about it, I'm not angry" , the narrator says. He's not angry at the performance, he's angry that he got drunk and didn't take the lead in the play. He blames himself for making the play unpleasant. The narrator tells us that he loves the guy since he was 10 years old. He says he'll never, ever, ever hate him. He tells the narrator that if he starts to get jealous, he won't be able to be so kind to him anymore. He asks the narrator to tell him more about the guy. He used to be sick when he was a kid, but when he watched his first play, it gave him the courage to continue going to the theater. This was the first time acting really made him feel alive again. It's the same scar that he has from the first play that keeps reminding him of the man who saved his soul. He doesn't want to leave his side, he says.
