In this chapter, we learn that the protagonist is alone with a "carniful beast son" on an "unpopulated island" . The protagonist moans about the lack of a cell signal and the fact that he's been on the island for two months. He asks why there's no signal in the place, and the protagonist explains that it's a work phone, so he can't use it for anything but emergency situations. He then asks if the protagonist has been on this island for more than two months, and if so, why? The protagonist says that he has been there for two-and-a-half months, but that someone must have been right to have thought that he was on a shipwreck. He says that if he wants to leave the island at any time, he can do so. If the protagonist wants to go back to his family and friends, the protagonist can send him back with the permission of his will. He can also send the protagonist back to the island as a guest of his own will if he so desires.
