The chapter opens with a description of the flora and fauna of the Gumi boss's home. The boss tells the deputy leader to go home and get some grit. He tells him that he'll forgive him for his actions and that they'll go back to the boss a month later. The deputy leader is all, "Gee, that's a good plan. I'm sure the boss will be all right" . But the boss isn't buying it. He says that the deputy was the one who started the tapio business. He's sure that the boss must have had a big hit on his head when he started it up, but he's also sure that when he actually did it, it was a big success. But then the home of tapioca place came along, grabbed all of his customers, and sucked his customers away. But at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is the price of the product. So the boss says that if he doesn't pay his dues by the next month, both him and the other Gumi leaders will get their hands on his sword.
