When this scene opens, Hiroyuki is still a child. He tells us that he and his mother had a fight the day before she died. After she died, he went to visit her in the hospital and Hiroyuki gave him flan to eat. Hiroyuki thanks him for the gift and says that he is glad that he was able to spend time with him while he was at the hospital. He also says that although he was unable to apologize to his mother, he is grateful for the message he received from him. He says that thanks to the flan, his heart is in the end. He thanks Hiroyuki for saving his life. He asks if he is going to hug her today, and she says that she is trying to entice him. She realizes that she has said something embarrassing.
