In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the "fiancée" . She is a young woman who has just gotten engaged to a man, and she is extremely jealous of the man's attentions to her. She wants to know what is going on between her and the man, but the man is too drunk to answer her questions. She tells him that she is just a fiancee, and that she wants him to be kind to her, too. She asks him to stop talking about her, because she thinks that she would be a great partner for the man. The man, however, does not want to hear this, because he thinks that the woman would make a good partner for him.
