In this chapter, we learn that Hirohito's father, Johnson, has hired a kid to be his bodyguard. The kid has come to protect Johnson, who has become a powerful man in the city. Johnson is rumored to be bad at communicating, and Hiroshito wonders why they have to stay in such a secluded place. He begs the two brothers to help him get a gold coin so he can buy a ticket to the train station. The two brothers refuse, but the narrator tells us that many people are trying to kill him.
