In this chapter, we learn that the protagonist, named "Gin," is a thirty-year-old man who has a crappy job and has to raise his own child on his own. He tells us that he has a secret identity knock on his door, and that he's going to use it as leverage to get his boss to hire him as a detective. He's also going to buy ice cream for the kid, so that he can start his job right away.
